Last week we had the opportunity to attend Ecorient Conference, part of Project Lebanon exhibition at Biel. The exhibition covers three main aspects:

1-      Project Lebanon: the 18th International Construction Trade Exhibition for Lebanon and the Middle East

2-      Energy Lebanon: the 3rd International Trade Exhibition for Power Generation, Electricity, Lighting and HVAC

3-      EcOrient: the 2nd International Trade Exhibition and Conference for Environmental Technologies, Sustainability, Alternative Energy, Water Technology, and Clean Energy.

Among the speakers at Ecorient were Mr. Markus Sellner, product manager of decentralized water management at Dehoust Group, Mr. Karim Osseiran, expert in energy consultancy at the ministry of energy and water, and Mr. Rashed Sarkis, Civil Engineer and Consultant.
Just Yesterday, we had the pleasure meeting  with Mr. Rached Sarkis who demonstrated the Natural Sewage  project that he developed in Remhala village in Lebanon. tOD staff discussed the Garlic House with him and enjoyed the brilliant ideas and insights that he gave us. He eventually encouraged the team, looking forward for a future cooperation.

About tOD

Active since 2010, the architecture lab theOtherDada defends an alternative position towards the current practice of sustainability through exploration of the context and medium, invoking new relationships between climate, landscape, and inhabitants. Informed by our research into biomimicry, we aim to connect to the natural ecosystems of sites to understand and consequently devise new potential living habitats. theOtherDada works within a collaborative process between architects, scientists, botanists, artists, economists and craftsmen.
