On June 26, we organized two tours at our CONVIVIUM Home construction site in Gemmayze, and collaborated with Bokja Design Studio who squatted our LIVING apartment with their unique upcycled furniture.

Last year during BDW, we invited people to come to our office and discover some of our projects including CONVIVIUM Home, and this year more than 60 guests came to the site to explore our sustainable design and learned about the different technological and natural features integrated in the design of the built space. Each tour was followed by a Q&A session and open discussion.

During BDW 2018, we also had two other interventions that you can read about:

Dada explaining about the energy and water efficient systems used

Dada talking about the integration of native and beneficial species in the design

The construction site during the tours

Non-toxic and environmental friendly materials used on site

About tOD

Active since 2010, the architecture lab theOtherDada defends an alternative position towards the current practice of sustainability through exploration of the context and medium, invoking new relationships between climate, landscape, and inhabitants. Informed by our research into biomimicry, we aim to connect to the natural ecosystems of sites to understand and consequently devise new potential living habitats. theOtherDada works within a collaborative process between architects, scientists, botanists, artists, economists and craftsmen.
